Summer REU Positions for Undergrads in Fang Lab

DESCRIPTION:

Exciting REU (Research Experiences for Undergraduates) opportunities are available in this laboratory at SUNY-Binghamton. Area of research includes wet-chemical synthesis and characterization of high-quality, functional nanostructured materials, which is a multidisciplinary approach that integrates Inorganic Chemistry, Condensed Physics, Materials Science and Nanotechnology. Applicants interested in electronic instrumentation with Physics measurement experience are also encouraged to apply. Both full-time and part-time positions are offered. The full-time positions begin on June 1st, and usually span 8 weeks. Submission of full-time application is due on April 30, each year. The part-time assistantships are conducted during a flexible 16-week period, and there is no application deadline. Qualified international undergraduate students from US institutions may also compete, but the final acceptance will be subject to an approval of the Office of International Students and Scholar Services. The level of stipend is dependent on educational background and/or research experience (if any). For interns who reside outside of the Binghamton metropolitan area, travel allowances may also be available. This program is part of a CAREER project, supported by the National Science Foundation.
